Sight of a Night Otter – Martin Potter

Scrabble on the slipway like

A dog making for the water

Caught too far from the river’s edge

Expecting solitude at that hour

The otter observed unhurried once

Back in the element supported

On welling untraceability

Swam away into its comfort
